Frequently Asked Questions

Most people have a good sense of whether I am the right professional to help them after their initial 15-minute consultation. I utilize part of this time to give you a sense of who I am and how I work. If after this call you feel I may not be able to meet your needs we can discuss possible referrals to other providers.

All counseling sessions are conducted via a secure and easy-to-use telehealth platform (hipaa compliant zoom or simple practice). I am not providing any in-person counseling at this time.

There are many advantages of online therapy; it’s convenient, effective, and can be done from the comfort of your own home. However, it’s not right for everyone. Online therapy (teletherapy) works best for those with mild to moderate symptoms (not people who are actively suicidal or in crisis), are comfortable using technology, and have a quiet, private place to have their sessions. Some of my clients find that connecting from a comfortable, quiet space can feel very similar to being in a traditional office setting.
-
I see clients Monday through Thursday from 10am to 6pm and Friday from 10am - 4pm.

I provide counseling for adults in Texas. I have experience helping individuals with generalized anxiety, codependency and people-pleasing, trauma, self-worth, and life transitions. I don’t provide counseling for children or couples.

Therapy is a collaborative process. I will walk side by side with you on this journey, but ultimately you will make the decisions. My part in this journey is to help ask the questions you have been unable to ask yourself. Your answers to these questions will help shape the direction of our work together. My goal is to create a space in which you feel respected, heard, and validated. I may offer opinions and suggestions from time to time, but I will not tell you what to do.
-
During your initial session you will share your story, what led you to seek help, and talk about your goals and what you would like to change. Together we will begin outlining some goals, and we will establish the roadmap of how you will achieve those goals.
-
Appointments are 55 minutes. If you are interested in a longer session (90 minutes) please contact me regarding availability and pricing.
-
Most clients find it helpful to meet weekly to start. Meeting less than bi-weekly in the beginning can result in “stalling out” or lack of continuity in our work. Once some or all of your goals are met, we can discuss tapering out sessions.
-
I charge $160 for a 60-minute intake session and $150 per 55-minute follow-up session. Payment will be collected at the time of service.

Yes, however, there are some downsides to using health insurance. In order to cover the cost of services, insurances require a mental health diagnosis. Not everyone who seeks out therapy qualifies or wants a diagnosis.
